Self-Catering Accommodation

One building erected here during the 17th century, probably around the same time as the farmhouse, was a 'cart lodge'. As its name suggests, this housed the farm's carts. During its history the first floor has served as a granary. In 2009 we completed the conversion of the cart lodge to create three high-class holiday apartments. In a sensitive conversion some of the old posts and beams have been retained and incorporated as attractive interior features.

The apartments are furnished and comprehensively equipped to a high standard. On this page are summary details with links to pages which provide fuller descriptions of each apartment, its facilities, furnishings and equipment.

The apartments can be booked on a weekly basis, from Saturday to Saturday. Subject to availability they can also be booked for 4 or 3 night stays. Lower down this page you will find information on pricing and how to check availability.

Children (minimum age 2 years) are welcome. However parents and carers should be aware of the need for close supervision of young children whilst outdoors because of unfenced water (the moat).

Facilities for guests in our self-catering apartments include:

• Central Heating - at no extra charge.
• Colour Television, DVD Player and stereo system.
• Wi-Fi Broadband Access.
• Ample car parking close to the apartments.
• Patio with tables and chairs at the rear of the property.
• Freedom to use and enjoy Rye Farm's garden. Guests are also free to walk in the nearby fields.
• Laundry facilities: Washing machine and tumble dryer (shared). Each apartment has its own iron and ironing board.

The apartments have been inspected by VisitBritain (Tourist Board) and awarded a four star rating.

Restrictions:
Smoking is not permitted in any of the apartments.
As we are a working farm we are unable to accept dogs or other pets.

The Three Apartments

Cart Lodge

Sleeps up to 2. Double bed.
The apartment is designed and equipped to meet the needs of disabled guests.
All doors are wheelchair width.
All accommodation is on the ground floor.

The Granary

Sleeps up to 4. Master bedroom with double bed and a double sofa bed. Second bedroom with single bed and a single chair bed.
Suitable for family accommodation.

Arrival and Departure

Your apartment will be available from 3-00pm on your day of arrival. You are asked to contact Rye Farm two or three days beforehand, to advise your estimated time of arrival.

You are asked to vacate the apartment by 10-00am on the day of departure so that it can be prepared for the next guests. Please leave it as clean and tidy as you would hope to find it.

The above arrival and departure times may be varied by mutual agreement, depending on other bookings for the apartment.

Pricing (for 2012)

The prices below are inclusive of all linen, towels, and electricity.

PAYMENT: A deposit of £100 per week for weekly bookings, £60 for a 4 or 3 night stay, is required at the time of booking. The full balance must be received at least four weeks before your planned date of arrival. For bookings made within 4 weeks of the planned arrival date, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Deposits and other payments are non-refundable and guests are advised therefore to arrange their own cancellation insurance.
We are able to accept payment by cheque only as we do not have credit or debit card facilities.
